Stars with black screen and narration then classical orchestral music begins as the title fades in then fades out to a scene with narration of one of the character we learn about later on she talks about the creation of the great rings and how they were forged. The narrator states that 3 of the rings were gifted to the elves “immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings” there was a close up shot of the three elves hands with the rings which zooms to a mid shot to show the face of a young beautiful woman to keep her statement true the lighting in this shot is bright and radiant to make them seem mystical and almost angelic creatures. The narrator continues on to say that seven rings were given to the dwarf lords “great miners and craftsman of the mountain halls” the camera stars with a close up of all seven rings then does a close up pan shot of the dwarfs with the rings in there hands the faces of the dwarfs are clear but the rings are blurred by there facial expressions we can tell that the dwarfs are admiring the rings. The camera then cuts to a long shot of the dwarfs holding the rings in the air the lighting in the dwarf shots is dark and dirty to show that they are underground men the only light shown in the shots are the candles. The narrator then states that “nine rings were given to the race of men who above all else desire power” the camera for this shot is a zoom shot which starts with a medium shot which moves out to a long shot then fades out.
